Who Is Ral E. Cat?
I am Ral E. Cat, Chapter R's Mascot. I participate as often as Chapter R does in rides, rallies and gatherings. I was born September 25, 1999. My first trip was to Lafayette, LA 4 days later for the Region H Rally. There I participated in my first mascot competition and brought home a 2nd place trophy. Since then, I have really been on the move competing and riding. I got my safety clothing (jeans, boots, vest and helmet) for Christmas that year and I am as committed to riding safely as are the members of Chapter R. I usually ride where there is an empty seat, but a lot of my travels have been in the sidecar of Sandy Balli Levengood who has been my caretaker. In 2000 I traveled to Mt. Scott, OK; F-2's Stockyard's Rally in Ft. Worth; the Lone Star Z April Fool's Rally in Sherman; Wings Over the Bayou Louisiana District Rally in Lafayette; Texas District Rally in Wichita Falls; Y2 Rally in Tyler, TX; Region H Rally in McAlester, OK (where I even attended a very early Level 4 breakfast); Wing Ding 2000 in Billings, MT; ( I rode this trip with Sandi Balli and Joe Levengood to OK, KS, NE, SD,WY, MT and I won a trophy at Wing Ding); then we toured ID, UT, AZ, NM on the way back to TX. I lost track of how many meetings and rides I attended this year. I can't remember all the trophies from these events, but I brought home something from each competition. In 2001, once again I got to go to the LA District Rally in Lafayette, LA, the TX District Rally in Wichita Falls, OK District Rally at Kingston, OK, Region H Rally in Kerrville, TX, Mississippi District Rally in Biloxi, and all the local rallies of F2-Z2-R &Y2. Again, I garnered a lot of trophies from each competition I participated in. Another major event in my life, I married Allie. R own Rev. Ken Ratley officiated at the ceremony the 1st of June 2001. In September, Rev. Ratley performed the ceremony for Joe & Sandy as they became Mr. & Mrs. Levengood. I sat on the front row with most of R members attending the ceremony. My Christmas present this year was the birth of Ral E. Cat, III. . 2002 brought another round of local, district and regional rallies. My whole family participated in the competition for the first time at the Texas District Rally in Kerrville, TX where we took a third place certificate. We brought home a 1st place certificate from the Oklahoma District Rally in Kingston. I traveled to the Arkansas District Rally in Eureka Springs with Don & Linda Holley and brought home another 1st place finish. Then we did the Region H Red River Rally in Shreveport, LA winning another 1st place and then over to the last rally of the year, the Sweet Sixteen Rally in Biloxi, MS where I brought home another 2nd place trophy. This was another fun packed and full year of traveling for me and R members. 2003 started again at the LA Rally in Lafayette, LA where I went to the rally with Terry & Carolyn Barton and brought home another 2nd place; Lone Star Z2 Rally in McKinney, TX; the F2 Wings Over Cowtown in the Stockyards; TX District Wingfest in Kerrville, TX with another 3rd place trophy; AR American Wings Over the Springs in Eureka Springs, AR with Don & Linda and Vern; OK Big Bikes & City Lights Rally in Oklahoma City, OK. (I cheated on this trip and rode in the motor home with Don & Linda and Mat & Mike); TX District Rally Wingfest in Kerrville, TX and the Region H Rally in Shreveport, LA. 2004 my first rally was to the Mardi Gras Madness Rally in Lafayette, LA. (Again, I cheated on the riding as I traveled with Gary & Alice Meyer in a pickup because of time and weather); then I went with Don & his harem( Linda, Carolyn & Mat), to the AR District Rally in Bismarck, AR; the following weekend found me at the Capitol Wingfest in Austin where I rode down with Mat and Julie and dressed as Ral the Desperado bringing home a 2 nd place trophy; then it was up to Stillwater, OK for the 2004 OK GWRRA State Fair. R Rally was in September and I was there to see all who participated, then over to the Y2 Campout and last rally this year was to the Region H Rally in Longview, TX. I am looking forward to the 2005 season; all this rallying is keeping me young and excited about my travels with my Chapter R family. |
